Bio
I am currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Newcastle with a focus on system identification of nonlinear state space models. After graduating from a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) with first class honours and a University Medal from the University of Newcastle (UON) in 2016 I worked as a research assistant at UON prior to starting my PhD later in 2017. I have also been involved with the UON RobotX team since my undergraduate studies where I worked on developing the control system.
Research
My research interests are focused on system identification of nonlinear state space systems. This includes research into the resultant non Gaussian and potentially multimodal state estimation problem, and computational efficient and scalable approximations to this problem.
Industry
During my time as a research assistant at UON my work was focused on industry research with MRA Electrical Engineering and Automation. Prior to this, during my undergraduate degree, I worked part time with underground mining OEM's Exlec and PPK Mining on the electrical systems of mobile machines.
